Samuel Verdin
Project Manager
Samuel is the Project Manager for 2021’s Stryvling Project, and comes from a background in creative writing and digital publishing. His literary work has been featured in several UK literary journals and alongside his studies at Stirling, he manages The Aesthetic Directory, which exhibits and promotes experimental literature, art and design. Liane McKay
Project Assistant
After a degree in Music and then four years in France reading instead of doing music, Liane decided to come home and pursue a career in publishing. When not roaming the Stirlingshire hills with a book in her pocket, you’ll probably find her at home writing cheesy poems or serenading the kettle with a ukulele while making tea.

Gina Mann
Marketing Lead
Gina studied English Literature at UEA in 2018 before joining the MLitt Publishing Studies program at Stirling. At UEA, Gina worked as Head of Publishing for Octarine magazine, publishing student’s creative writing and artwork. When not working as Head of Marketing for Stryvling or studying, Gina enjoys reading a good book, walks in forests, and cats.

Molly Welsh
Marketing
Molly graduated from the University of East Anglia with a degree in Culture, Literature and Politics. Asides from reading and creative writing, she has an enthusiasm for Journalism. Currently turning this interest into a podcast, Molly spends a lot of her time drinking coffee in the dead of night.

Sadia Akhtar
Marketing
Sadia studied English & Creative Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University before taking on her master’s at Stirling in Publishing. She hopes to publish a poetry anthology and achieve a career in book marketing. When Sadia is not busy with assignments or reading, she is either obsessing over her cat, drinking tea, or writing.

Natalie Joyce

Natalie recently graduated from the University of Stirling having completed her undergraduate in English Studies. As well as working as part of the Stryvling marketing team, Natalie is a Contributing Writer and Editor for fortnightly magazine, The Publishing Post. Outside of work and academics, she can be found drinking endless cups of tea with her cat.

Cassidy Smith
Production
Originally from Leeds, Cassidy completed her undergraduate in sociology at Cardiff before moving to Stirling to study MLitt Publishing Studies. When she is not working in production at Stryvling Press, she can be found needlessly giving her opinion on topics that don’t concern her and buying everything she can find with a penguin on it.

Agnes Gustafsson
Production
Agnes is from Sweden but has lived in Scotland since starting her undergraduate degree in English Literature & Linguistics at University of Aberdeen in 2016. After completing her degree, she decided to pursue a masters in Publishing Studies at Stirling. Agnes enjoys reading (of course), preferably with a cup of tea or coffee, and has an obsession with Moomin and sunflowers.

Ellen Cranston
Editorial
Ellen is an English Literature graduate from the University of Glasgow. When she’s not working part-time as the PR Manager for a charitable start-up, she will most likely be re-reading her favourite Alasdair Gray novels. Ellen would love to work in book rights and licensing, preferably abroad in a climate much warmer than her native Scotland!

Averie Watson
Editorial
Averie (often misspelled from anything between Avery and Avenue) is part of the editorial team for Stryvling Press. She has spent most of her life in Scotland and has an undergraduate degree in English and Linguistics. Averie is a contributing editor for Ta Voix and a reader for Sandstone Press and writes anything from science fiction to coming of age.

Delphine Burnet
Design
Delphine comes from Orléans, France. She has an undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature, and a master’s degree in Translation. Besides being a current Mlitt Publishing student, she’s a semi-professional, self-taught artist who regularly posts her paintings and sketches on Instagram. Lahli Trevis
Design
Loll’s passion for books led her to achieve a BFA cum laude in Illustration in the US. She moved to Scotland to complete a MLitt in Publishing at Stirling. She hopes to continue a career in book design and production in the UK. Loll enjoys hillwalking, cycling and yoga while ruminating on the latest mystery thriller she’s reading.

Julia Börnlund
Design
Being half German and Norwegian, Julia is accustomed to snow and the cold which makes Stirling an ideal place to live in. Studying Publishing Studies has given this book lover new perspectives on how fun it can be to work with the written word. When not reading, she is either baking or going on long walks around Bridge of Allan.
