Stryvling Press is a collaborative project between MLitt Creative Writing and MLitt Publishing Studies students which aims to showcase the voices of the former, whilst allowing the latter the opportunity to hone a range of professional skills.
The project has resulted in four anthologies: Inklings (2018), Circling the Point (2019), Time and Tide (2020), and Pharos (2021). Each anthology has maintained the high creative standards set by previous cohorts, but each team has taken their projects in new directions with their own ideas and design concepts. Each anthology has propelled the reputation of the press further with increased sales, social media presence and innovative marketing campaigns. The newest edition of the Stryvling Press project will be published in June.
In 2022, we celebrate five years of anthologies, and five years of bringing the work of The University of Stirling’s Creative Writing Masters’ cohort into the light.
Stryvling Press is founded! Following the launch of the Creative Writing MLitt, Publishing Studies course leaders see an opportunity for a cross-faculty collaborative project and launch Stryvling Press – the university’s first student-run publishing press.
Stryvling’s first anthology, Inklings, is published in June 2018.
The second anthology, Circling the Point is published in May 2019.
Another new team assembles to deliver Stryvling’s third anthology, Time and Tide.
Despite numerous disruptions and delays from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is published on June 15th.
This year sees the ten-year anniversary of the Creative Writing programme. To celebrate this, this year’s Publishing Studies team has invited past graduates of the programme to submit their work, creating Pharos.
